ICAR KVK, IFFCO and Department of Agriculture Madurai jointly organized Farmers Enclave and Exhibition on 23.03.2022

Soil health management and input managements are important for achieving higher productivity in agriculture. Similarly, advanced technologies like drone technology and mechanization is important to reduce the cost of production and achieve the higher input use efficiency. KVK collaborated with IFFCO and jointly organized Farmers Enclave and Mega mela for the benefit of farming community.

District collector inaugurated one window stall, exhibition, live demonstration, drone technology in the field for spraying of nano urea for the benefit of farming community. Dean, AC&RI, Madurai guided and supported for organizing the programme .

Professor and Head, Department of Agronomy, has delivered the importance of soil health management and ways to enhance the input use efficiency.

Programme coordinator and team organized the stall, exhibited the technology and live demonstration in the field.

Exhibition on technologies for soil health improvement, management, inputs for soil health management, ICM technologies in major crops viz., Paddy, Groundnut and pulses, Stalls related to bio inputs, entrepreneurship development, micro irrigation,

mechanization and other inputs were arranged (16 numbers).

Drip irrigation, drip fertigation, foliar spray of nano urea through drones, mechanized sowing in rice fallow condition were demonstrated in field. District level officials of department of agriculture and farmers welfare viz., Joint director of agriculture,

Deputy directors of GOI, SS, MI and training division, Executive Engineer of Agricultural Engineering, Deputy director of horticulture,

Assistant director of agriculture, Madurai west coordinated in the programme and organized technological intervention related to soil health management and input use efficiency.Single window stall for the benefit of farming community was inaugurated and opened and all agricultural

related inputs like seeds, seed treatment chemical, inputs for entrepreneurship, traditional variety seeds, bio inputs for soil health management plant protection were arranged for sale.Technological inputs in the form of booklet, leaf let and pamphlet were released and issued to the farmers. Technical feasibility of drone technology on application of nano fertilizers was explained and demonstrated to the students as well as farming community. 640 beneficiaries were benefited. Cultural programme depicting the input use efficiency was also organized.
